Cala d'Hort, facing Es Vedrà, is 10.8 km. In high summer the roads and parking fill up; in May, June and September the pace is easier and many coves are less crowded.

Sant Antoni de Portmany also has some mainland ferry routes in season, which would put you about 1.9 km from the villa. In winter, flights and ferries are fewer, so check timetables with the operators before travelling.

Beaches, sights and food nearby

The nearest beaches to Villa Carvi are Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta, 4.9 km away. These are small coves with pine trees and clear water, popular in summer. Cala Comte, 6.9 km off, is a longer stretch with shallow water and islets offshore, known for sunsets. Cala d'Hort, 10.8 km away, faces Es Vedrà, a limestone islet about 380 m high that nobody lands on.

Sant Antoni de Portmany itself has a promenade, a marina and the sunset strip on its north shore. For a walk, climb Sa Talaia, the island's highest point at about 475 m, 5.2 km from the villa. A day from Villa Carvi

Start the day with coffee on the terrace at Villa Carvi, then drive the 5.2 km to Sa Talaia. The climb takes you to the highest point on Ibiza, with views over the west coast and, on a clear day, to Formentera. Afterwards, head down to Cala Comte, 6.9 km away, for a swim in the shallow water and a picnic on the sand.

In the late afternoon, return towards Sant Antoni de Portmany, 1.9 km from the villa, and walk the north shore to watch the sunset. The bay faces due west, so the evening light is strong. For dinner, cook at the villa or eat in town; the area has plenty of places serving fish and rice dishes. Drive back in the dark is short, and the villa's free parking is a bonus.

Practical tips

Much of Ibiza's tourism business closes roughly from November to April, so check the villa's opening dates before booking. July and August are the peak months, with the busiest roads and beaches.
