In July and August the roads to Cala Comte and Cala d'Hort are busy, and parking near the coves can be tight. In the shoulder months of May, June, September and October the area is quieter, with fewer cars and more space on the sand. The natural park setting means there is little light pollution at night, and the sound of cicadas and the sea is the main background noise.

From Ibiza Town port, the straight-line distance is 18.9 km. Ferries from the port link to Formentera (La Savina), Palma, Barcelona, Valencia and Dénia. The drive from the port to the villa takes about 25-30 minutes. In winter, flights and ferries are fewer, and some bus routes stop running. Check the island bus operator for current timetables.

Beaches, sights and food nearby

The nearest beach is Cala d'Hort, 2.2 km away, a small cove with views of Es Vedrà. Cala Comte is 6 km away, with shallow clear water and small islets offshore. Both are inside the natural park and have no large hotels. The Torre des Savinar watchtower is 3.8 km away and offers a walk with wide views of the coast. Es Vedrà is 5 km from the villa as the crow flies; you can see it from the cliff at Cala d'Hort or take a boat trip from the cove.

Sant Antoni de Portmany is 10.7 km away, with a bay that faces due west, a promenade, shops and restaurants. The island's food includes bullit de peix and arròs a banda, a fish stew served in two courses, and fresh fish and rice dishes. Many restaurants in the area close from November to April. The Punta Arabí hippy market at Es Canar runs on Wednesdays in season, and Las Dalias market at Sant Carles de Peralta runs on Saturdays.

A day from Casa Bianca

A day from Casa Bianca could start with breakfast on the terrace, looking towards the hills. Drive the 2.2 km to Cala d'Hort in the morning, when the cove is quieter and the light falls on Es Vedrà. Swim in the clear water, then walk the short path to the Torre des Savinar watchtower, 3.8 km away, for views along the coast. Return to the villa for lunch on the patio, using the kitchen.

In the afternoon, drive 6 km to Cala Comte for a swim in the shallow water and a look at the offshore islets. As the sun drops, the west-facing cove catches the evening light. Drive back to the villa for a dinner cooked in the kitchen, or head to Sant Antoni, 10.7 km away, for a meal at a restaurant. The drive takes about 15 minutes. After dark, the sky above the natural park is clear for stargazing.

Practical tips

Much of Ibiza's tourism business closes roughly from November to April, so check Casa Bianca's opening dates before booking. July and August are the peak months, with higher demand and more traffic on the roads to Cala d'Hort and Cala Comte. The Balearic sustainable tourism tax (the ecotasa) is charged per person per night by the accommodation; the rate depends on the season and the type of accommodation, and children under 16 are exempt.
