In the shoulder months of May, June, September and October the pace is slower and parking is easier.

The nearest beaches are Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta, 0.9 km straight line. These are small coves with clear water, best reached by car or taxi. Sant Antoni town centre is walkable on the flat road, but the distance is about 2.3 km. A car is useful for exploring further: Cala Comte is 6.9 km away, Cala d'Hort is 13.4 km. The property has its own parking, which is an advantage in summer.

A hire car collected at the airport gives flexibility for the whole stay and covers the distances to the coves.

From Ibiza Town port, the straight-line distance is 16.2 km. Ferries from the port connect to Formentera, Palma, Barcelona, Valencia and Dénia. Sant Antoni also has some mainland ferry routes in season. In winter, flights and ferries are fewer, and some bus lines stop running. Check the island bus operator for current timetables.

Beaches, sights and food nearby

The closest beaches are Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta, 0.9 km straight line. These are two small coves with fine sand and clear water, popular for snorkelling. Further west, Cala Comte is 6.9 km away, a wide bay with shallow water and islets offshore. Cala d'Hort, 13.4 km, faces Es Vedrà, a limestone islet about 380 m high that is a nature reserve. Sa Talaia, the highest point on Ibiza at about 475 m, is 9 km away and offers views over the island.

Sant Antoni de Portmany itself has a long promenade, a marina and the sunset strip. The town stays open all year. Food on Ibiza includes bullit de peix and arròs a banda, fish stews served in two courses, and fresh fish and rice dishes. Many restaurants in the area serve these, but Casa Anexo has no on-site dining. You cook or eat out.

A day from Casa Anexo

A day from Casa Anexo could start with a short drive to Cala Salada, 0.9 km away, for a morning swim. After that, drive 6.9 km to Cala Comte to spend the middle of the day on the shallow beach. Pack a picnic because there is no restaurant at the apartment. In the afternoon, drive 9 km to Sa Talaia and climb the path to the summit for a view of the whole island.

In the late afternoon, return to Sant Antoni, 2.3 km from the apartment, and walk along the sunset strip. The bay faces due west, so the evening light is strong. After sunset, drive back to Casa Anexo. The apartment has parking, so you can come and go without searching for a space. The terrace is a quiet place to end the day.

Practical tips

Much of Ibiza's tourism business closes roughly from November to April. Check with Casa Anexo whether it is open in winter. July and August are the peak months, with the highest demand and the busiest roads. The Balearic sustainable tourism tax (ecotasa) is charged per person per night by the accommodation. The rate depends on the type and category of accommodation and the season; it is reduced in low season and for longer stays. Children under 16 are exempt.
