The nearest beaches by straight line are Talamanca (8.2 km) and Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta (10 km). Talamanca is a calm, shallow bay across the marina from Ibiza Town, with a long promenade. Cala Salada and Cala Saladeta are on the north-west coast, known for clear water and pine-covered cliffs. Both are easiest to reach by car. The property is not beachfront, so a car is needed for a day at the sea.

Ibiza Town (Dalt Vila) is 8.5 km away. The UNESCO-listed walls, the cathedral and the Puig des Molins necropolis (8.9 km) are the main sights. A day from Villa Universe

After the swim, drive into Ibiza Town (8.5 km) and walk the walls of Dalt Vila. The Renaissance fortifications and the cathedral at the top give views over the port and the sea. For lunch, find a restaurant in the old town or near the port for a plate of arròs a banda. In the afternoon, drive to Cala Salada (10 km) for a late swim in the clear water. The cove is popular, so arrive early or go in the late afternoon. Return to Villa Universe for a dip in the outdoor pool or a soak in the jacuzzi. End the day with a drink on the terrace.

Practical tips

Much of Ibiza's tourism business closes roughly from November to April. Check with Villa Universe for its exact opening dates. July and August are the peak months, with the highest demand and the busiest roads. The Balearic sustainable tourism tax (the ecotasa) is charged per person per night by the accommodation.
