From Ciutadella port, a taxi to the villa takes about 10 minutes. If you arrive by ferry to Maó, a hire car or taxi is the most practical option.

Beaches, sights and food nearby

Ciutadella old town is 3.5 km from Villa Nuriana. It has a cathedral, narrow streets, shops and restaurants around the port. The Naveta des Tudons, a prehistoric boat-shaped tomb, is 7.8 km away and can be visited by car. Cala Turqueta, a white-sand cove on the south coast, is 11.9 km away; arrive early in summer to find parking. Cala Galdana is 15.1 km away and has a larger beach with facilities.

Es Mercadal, at the foot of Monte Toro, is 24.9 km away. Monte Toro, at 358 m, is the highest point on Menorca and has a sanctuary with views of both coasts. The Camí de Cavalls, the 185 km coastal path, passes near several of these sights. For local food, try Mahón-Menorca cheese, which has a protected designation, or caldereta de llagosta (lobster stew) in Fornells, about 30 km north.

A day from Villa Nuriana

Start the morning at Villa Nuriana with breakfast on the balcony or in the garden. Drive 11.9 km to Cala Turqueta for a morning swim in the clear water. The cove is backed by pine trees and has soft white sand. In summer, arrive before 10 am to get a parking space. Bring water and snacks, as there is a seasonal kiosk but no full restaurant.

In the afternoon, drive 3.5 km into Ciutadella. Walk around the old town, see the cathedral and the port, and have a late lunch at one of the restaurants near the harbour.
