Beaches, sights and food nearby

Ciutadella old town is 2.6 km straight line from Villa Itsasalde. Its narrow streets, cathedral and port are best seen at dusk when the crowds thin. The Naveta des Tudons, a boat-shaped prehistoric tomb, is 7 km away by road. Cala Turqueta, a white-sand cove on the south coast, is 11.4 km straight line; arrive early in summer as the car park fills. Cala Galdana, a larger beach with services, is 14.4 km away.

Menorca’s local food includes Mahón-Menorca cheese, a protected designation of origin, and caldereta de llagosta, a lobster stew from Fornells on the north coast. Ciutadella has shops, markets and bakeries where you can buy supplies for the villa’s kitchen.
