The villa is also 6 km from Son Bou and 9.9 km from Binibeca Vell. In winter, flights and ferries are fewer; check schedules with the operators. Seasonal buses run less frequently outside the main summer months.

Beaches, sights and food nearby

Cala en Porter beach is 0.4 km away, a sandy cove with cliffs on both sides. The nearest talayotic village is 4.3 km straight-line from the villa, one of the prehistoric sites that form part of the UNESCO Talayotic Menorca World Heritage listing (2023). A boat trip round Maó harbour, one of the largest natural harbours in the Mediterranean, starts 11.6 km away. Monte Toro, the highest point on Menorca at about 358 m, is 13.2 km straight-line and offers views of both coasts.

The south coast coves such as Cala Macarella and Cala Turqueta are within a short drive, but their car parks fill early in summer. Son Bou, 6 km away, has the longest beach on the island with dunes and a wetland. Binibeca Vell, 9.9 km away, is a whitewashed fishing-village-style hamlet. Menorcan food includes Mahón-Menorca cheese (protected designation of origin) and caldereta de llagosta (lobster stew) from Fornells on the north coast.

A day from Villa Santi II

Start the morning with a swim in the villa's outdoor pool. Drive 4.3 km to a talayotic village to see prehistoric stone talaiots and taules. Return to Cala en Porter for lunch at the cove. In the afternoon, take a 6 km drive to Son Bou for a walk along the dunes and wetland. Alternatively, head 9.9 km to Binibeca Vell to photograph the white houses and narrow lanes.

In the late afternoon, drive 13.2 km to Monte Toro for the view from the sanctuary above Es Mercadal. On the way back, stop at a local shop for Mahón-Menorca cheese. End the day with a swim at the villa's pool as the sun sets. For a longer outing, a boat trip round Maó harbour (11.6 km) can be arranged; check the ferry operators for timetables and availability in season.

Practical tips

Much of Menorca's tourism business closes roughly from November to April; check the villa's opening dates before booking. July and August are the peak months, with higher demand and warmer sea temperatures (about 25-26 °C in August). The Balearic sustainable tourism tax (the ecotasa) is charged per person per night by the accommodation; the rate depends on the season and is reduced for longer stays and for children under 16.
