Rules can change: confirm on the official site before you travel. imptbalearic.es is a hotel and travel site; it does not issue visas.
Hungarian citizens enjoy EU/EEA/Swiss free movement and do not need a visa to enter Spain, including the Balearic Islands of Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera. Travel is permitted with a valid national identity card or passport. There is no special condition recorded for Hungarian nationals under Regulation (EU) 2018/1806.
What the status means in practice
As an EU citizen, you have the right to enter Spain without a visa for short stays. You may stay up to 90 days in any 180-day period for tourism, business or family visits. The same rules apply to all islands covered by this site: Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera.
You do not need to apply for a visa ahead of travel. Border checks are minimal when you present a valid identity card or passport. No additional documentation is required under normal circumstances.
Before you travel and at the border
Carry a valid Hungarian national identity card or passport. A passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen area and issued within the previous ten years. Check the expiry date well ahead of travel.
At the border, Spanish authorities may ask for proof of the purpose and length of your stay, but this is rare for EU citizens. Have your return ticket or onward itinerary available. No visa or separate permit is needed for entry.
Arriving on the islands
Direct flights from Hungary arrive at Ibiza Airport (IBZ) and Menorca Airport (MAH). Formentera has no airport; fly to Ibiza then take a ferry from the port to La Savina. Mallorca is a transit point only for connecting flights or ferries to the other islands.
Once on the islands, move freely between them using inter-island ferries. No additional immigration checks apply when travelling between the Balearic Islands. Keep your ID or passport with you at all times.
Staying longer, working or studying
If you plan to stay in Spain for more than three months, you must register your presence with the local authorities. This applies to EU citizens exercising free movement rights. Contact the Oficina de Extranjería on the relevant island for details.
For work or study, you may need to show a contract or enrolment letter when registering. No visa is required for EU citizens, but a residence certificate (certificado de registro de ciudadano de la Unión) may be issued. Check the official Spanish government site for current procedures.
